Experience The Real Silent Day; Nyepi in Bali.

It had been more than 6 months i didn’t write any article. There is so many things i want to write and one of that is my experience living in Bali. Well, yes i mean real living in bali not in holiday. I had been living in Bali almost 6 months and during that period I have been experienced many things from their beaches, beautiful sunset, local foods, day routine local activities, culture and of course one thing which i would never forget was my first ever experienced Nyepi (Silent Day) in Bali.

Nyepi or in english known as “silent day” is the celebration day for Hindu people in Bali after the day before they fights against bad evils in the worlds. That’s ceremony known as pengrupukan; cleansing and casting out evil from the island which usually follow by ogoh ogoh parade. Ogoh Ogoh is believed as embodiment of bad evils. So, in contrary to Nyepi or silent day, the day before nyepi they have ogoh ogoh parade where everyone outside, street filled by people. Every banjar (desa or village) in Bali participate on this parade, they even have prepared ogoh ogoh a months or even 2 or 3 months before for this parade. On that day, they will arrack and bring ogoh ogoh (buta kala) around neighborhood before at the end of the day which is 12 o’clock at night they burned down the ogoh ogoh in near local beaches. All people participates, from young to old, local people to tourists all blended together to enjoy this ogoh ogoh parade. It was great experience and i did enjoy this culture even though you need to wait quite long before they start the parade and being in crowded.

Have you heard about Bintan Islands? If yes, what it will be the first time come out in your mind?? Well, as for me it will be the beach and expensive resorts. Although, I am correctly right but is not all true, Bintan Islands offer more than that. It was our family trip to Lagoi Bay, Bintan Islands, Riau. In the beginning, I rejected to join this trip, as I though there will be nothing special over there. I did some research but still nothing is satisfied me until finally my sister able to pursue me to do this trip. So, here’s my little adventure to the Lagoi Bay, Bintan Island.

Bintan Islands is one of the biggest island in the Riau archipelago of Indonesia. It is part of the Riau Islands province, which exactly located not far from Singapore. Maybe that one of the reason why there is so many resort in Bintan Islands owned by Singaporean. Bintan Islands itself for me is almost same like other city in Indonesia but the differences is that you will find out there are strong influence of culture, religion  and languages from Melayu and Chinese ethnic.

1.1Busway stop Gelangang Remaja1Yeah…finally I am back to blog! I have been busy these past weeks but I am glad now can come back to write. During these few days, I have traveled a lot and most of the time I am using public transport (Transjakarta/Busway). At that time, I am thinking to make this post as I remember when I was traveling to other countries, I try to search they local public transport. I prefer public transport compare to taxi in the foreign countries apart it is more cheaper I also can see and learn the local culture. Top 10 Tourist Attraction in Bali

Bali is an island and one of the province in Indonesia. The capital city of Bali is Denpasar and since the late 20th century, Bali has had a rise in tourism. It is one of the famous and  favorite tourist destination.

Kuta square, matahari As tourist destination, Bali is renowned for its highly developed arts, including traditional and modern dance, sculpture, painting, leather, hand craft, music and etc.  Besides that, Bali also offer many attraction and activities for tourist ranging from their beautiful view, nature, beach, adventure, history and culture, underwater activities, education, mountain activities and place to shop all you can found in Bali.  Each corner in Bali from east to south, north to west all offer tourist attraction. I guess Bali is one the place that tourist need to visit after all although i believe not all people will agree with that. Same people say that Bali is overrated, too touristy, expensive and not worth to visit.I think it really all depends how you would see and enjoy Bali. Nevertheless,  here’s my Top 10 list tourist attraction in Bali you could visit.

1. Kuta

Kuta road

Located 1,5 km  ( 30 minutes) from Ngurah Rai International Airport Denpasar, Kuta is one of the well known tourist destination in Bali. Most notable is Kuta beach (Indonesian: Pantai Kuta). Kuta beach is one of the beaches which most visited and popular by the tourist as it is located not far from airport and the capital city, Denpasar.  It is also famous for their beautiful view, low cost and the waves which suitable for beginner surfer. Although, from my last visit the beach now is too crowded and dirty. Nevertheless, the beach offer beautiful sunset for tourist to see.

Besides the nature, Kuta also famous for shopping place and their night life. Head here if you are looking out to socialize, party and have a good time. There’s a lot restaurant, cafe, pub in here include Hard Rock cafe. And if you like the art  show, you can visit Kuta Theater and for those who holiday with children can visit Waterbom Bali.

Legian
Legian is located not far from Kuta. Same like Kuta, Legian is famous for their beach, shopping place and night life. However, Legian beach is more desolate compare to Kuta beach.

As for the accommodation, both Kuta and Legian offer competitive price compare to other place in Bali. There is hotel, resort, Inn, Bed and Breakfast until guesthouse and cottage in poppy lane I and II. It all depends on your preference and budget.
